Adventures in Wild Space: The Cold

Author:  Cavan Scott Time:  18 BBY, a year after the events of  Revenge of the Sith . The Empire is beginning its rule. Place: An ice moon in the Xala system, in Wild Space. Lina and Milo Graf have been living with the Bridgers on Lothal for a while. At the end of the previous book, the Bridgers got some intel about the Grafs’ parents being held captive in the Xala system, but they decided it would be too dangerous to rescue them. It could be a trap. The Grafs' next mission is to repair a  radio transmitter on some planet. Lina decides to make a pit stop at Xala to see if they can find their parents. As soon as they get to the system, they get shot down on a moon covered in an ocean of ice. The Grafs’ ship is damaged because of the crash landing. Lina goes outside to survey the damage. A geyser breaks through the ice and the ship sinks, with Milo and their droid CR-8R inside. (Their Kowakian monkey-lizard Morq is in there, too, but I don't care about him anymore.) Lina is confr

Author:  Tom Huddleston Time:  18 BBY, a year after the events of  Revenge of the Sith . The Empire is beginning its rule. Place: Space, aboard Shalla Mondatha's space food truck  Moveable Feast . Lina and Milo Graf are imprisoned on Shalla Mondatha's transport ship. Shalla--a.k.a. the bounty hunter The Shade--is bringing them to Imperial Captain Visler Korda. He has the Graf's parents captive, and he wants the information in their droid CR-8R's head. Shalla has put a restraining bolt on CR-8R to get him to comply. Before leaving Lothal’s space, she receives a couple more random prisoners from stormtroopers: a Lasat named Davin and a red headed human named Stel. En route to Korda, the kids hear some loud noises and the ship exits hyperspace. Everything in the ship seems to be on the fritz, including CR-8R's restraining bolt. He comes to rescue the Graf children. They leave the other two prisoners in their cells, promising to come back and rescue them. They can&#

Author:  Cavan Scott Time:  18 BBY, a year after the events of  Revenge of the Sith . The Empire is beginning its rule. Place:  Lothal, which is in the Outer Rim, not  Wild Space. Lina and Milo Graf's parents are still missing. They were abducted by the Empire. The Graf kids have been trying to find someone to help them track down the Imperial Captain Visler Korda. In the previous book, they heard an anti-Imperial transmission and discovered its source: Lothal. They hope that they will finally find a responsible adult on this planet. When they land in Lothal's Capital City (I hate  that the capital is called Capital City!), the children are greeted by a shady Devaronian dude named Cikatro Vizago. You might know him from  Star Wars Rebels . In this book, he's not the  Lothal crime lord yet. He works for a Mon Calamari named Rask Odai, who runs his smuggling business out of the Twin Horns Storage facility. By the way, it's in this story that Cikatro breaks his horn in

Author: Tom Huddleston Time:  18 BBY, a year after the events of  Revenge of the Sith . The Empire is beginning its rule. Place:  Xirl, a (mostly) uninhabited planet in Wild Space. In this next installment of the Adventures in Wild Space  series,  Lina and Milo Graf are still on the hunt for their parents, who were abducted by Captain Visler Korda. They intercepted an anti-Empire transmission at the end of the last book. Their new goal is to find the source of the message. They hope that person may be able to help them. They end up on the planet Xirl. It's basically a big jungle. There is a landing strip but only one building: a hunting lodge. It's filled with taxidermied creatures from all over the galaxy. The children don't spot anyone, so they go exploring. They find the wreckage of a freighter. They don't need the giant claw marks and splattered blood to tell that something's clearly not right here. They meet the owner of the lodge (and the planet): Gozetta.

Adventures in Wild Space: The Snare

Author:  Cavan Scott Time:  18 BBY, a year after the events of  Revenge of the Sith . The Empire is beginning its rule. Place:  Thune, an inhabited planet in Wild Space. This is a sequel to The Escape --well, technically it's the first book in the Adventures in Wild Space series. At the end of the last book, Lina and Milo Graf's parents were abducted by Captain Visler Korda. They are cartographers, and Korda wanted their maps of Wild Space. The children escaped Graf-World along with Milo's pet monkey-lizard Morq and droid caretaker CR-8R ("Crater"). Their mom transmitted some encrypted data to CR-8R, which he's been trying to decrypt. It's taking a very long time. The kids don't know where their parents were taken. They decide to go to Thune, where their parents' best friend and agent Dil Pexton lives. Thune's capital city is like Venice, but in a swamp. There are bugs everywhere and it smells bad. It's basically Florida. They contact Dil

Author:  Cavan Scott Time: 18 BBY, a year after the events of Revenge of the Sith . The Empire is beginning its rule. Place: Graf-World, an uncharted planet in Wild Space. Lina and Milo Graf are the children of two really cool cartographers, Rhyssa and Auric. The Grafs spend their lives mapping Wild Space, the vast, uncharted region of the galaxy. Milo is interested in biology. He often gets into trouble searching for new lifeforms. Lina isn't into all that, but she is pretty good with technology. They are accompanied by their droid assistant CR-8R ("Crater") and Milo's Kowakian monkey-lizard Morq (i.e., Salalcious B. Crumb's species). I really hate when droid's names are cutesy or form words (see: L3-37 and CH-33P). However, this is a children's book, and I do  love CR-8R's character design. Rhyssa built him from a bunch of different droid parts, so he's not your standard protocol droid.  Milo are Morq are out in the wild chasing some animal, and
